Before his defeat to Alexander Povetkin, in 2020, Heavyweight boxer Dillian Whyte was ranked at number 1 with the WBC for more than a thousand days, without getting a single world title shot.
Although the Brixton fighter avenged his defeat by Povetkin by brutally knocking the Russian out in the 4th round, in Gibraltar, he is likely to be waiting longer for a world title shot with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury who currently hold all the belts in the heavyweight division, between them seemingly set for at least two fights.
So what next for for The Body Snatcher? Here are 3 potential opponents for Whyte.
Andy Ruiz
Over the past 12 months, Whyte has constantly called out, hounded and made fun of Ruiz on social media.

Ruiz, coming off the back of over a year lay-off since his defeat to Anthony Joshua may need a couple of warm up fights before he agrees to any fight with Dillian Whyte.
Deontay Wilder
Perhaps the most exciting prospect for Whyte, is a showdown with former WBC heavyweight champion, Deontay Wilder.
The two have been linked heavily with a potential match-up since Wilder lost his belt to Tyson Fury, and Whyte was not sympathetic to the Bronze Bomber, to say the least.

Neither of the two hard-hitting heavyweights are likely to get a fight with either of the champions, at least this year, so it would make sense for the Whyte and Wilder to fight each other.
Michael Hunter
Perhaps an opponent and fight that wont get casual boxing fans too excited, however, for the hardcore boxing fans, this could be a fight worth keeping an eye on.
Hunter doesn’t necessarily have as big of a profile, especially in the UK as Wilder and Ruiz, and also doesn’t hold a world title, so there is very little reward for the amount of risk and danger that is potentially involved in this fight, for Dillian Whyte.
However, Whyte has proven before that he will take dangerous fights and not sit and wait for the champions.
Whilst on the brink of a world title shot, Whyte fought numerous top ten opponents in; Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin, Derek Chisora and Oscar Rivas.
