Are you planning to take your mother somewhere to celebrate Mother’s Day but stuck for ideas?

Look no further, because we have got you covered.

From bottomless brunches to cream teas and three-course meals, these are a few Mother’s Day food ideas available in Derby and it’s surrounding areas for Mother’s Day:

  1. Zizzi’s

The Italian chain has come up with a (very delicious) three-course menu at a reasonable price of £19.95 per head. The menu is around over the Mother’s Day weekend so it isn’t just for the Sunday which gives you a bit of freedom. Choices include usual favourites including the bruschetta to start, Rustica Primavera for main and the new passionfruit cheesecake to finish off the meal. The restaurant is also providing gluten free choices in the Mother’s Day menu so can target a wider audience (who like to eat of course!)

Zizzi’s can be found in the Intu Derby shopping centre or in Friar Gate, Derby.

2. The Farmhouse at Mackworth

Just like Zizzis, The Farmhouse is offering a three-course meal for £23.95 per person but it’s including a roast with all the trimmings. The offer is just for Mothering Sunday rather than the weekend but it will make your mum smile with the choice of main meals or roast dinners that the 18th century hotel is offering!

If you want more information, The Farmhouse can be found here.

3. Denby Pottery

Mother’s Day Tipsy Tea could be a good shout for Mother’s Day. For £14.95 per adult, the pottery is providing an afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco and bottomless tea or coffee. If afternoon teas take your fancy, the selection of sandwiches and sweet treats is pleasing, with the possibility of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options available to book too.

Smaller teas are also available if needed for the little ones at £7.95 per child.

The 2.30pm entry is now sold out, but a newly added time of 12pm on the Sunday can be booked here.

4. Las Iguanas

As I’m happily writing about alcohol, it would be a good time to mention bottomless brunches. What is better than brunch and drinks to celebrate with your mum? Latin American restaurant Las Iguanas, in Friar Gate, is offering its usual bottomless brunch for £24.95 which includes a starter, main course with unlimited prosecco or draught beer.

Kids can also eat free at Las Iguanas so why not take your mum and siblings to the restaurant to save the pennies?

Information on Las Iguanas’ Bottomless Brunch can be accessed here.

5. Heights of Abraham

The attraction in Matlock is known for its amazing views and is well known throughout the the county. They are offering a craft session for the kids, followed by a lunch which costs a delightful £11.95 per person.

Live music will be played so the mothers and older family members can enjoy the welcoming atmosphere whilst the kids are at work.

Booking is essential. More information can be found here.

Depending on how you want to celebrate your mum, all these options come below the £25 mark and I’m sure will put a big smile on her face.

But remember, it’s about the effort and not the price!
