A Chaddesden flat has been left badly damaged after a house fire.
Police, fire crew and paramedics were sent to the blaze from three different stations to tackle the early-morning blaze.
A spokeswoman for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue said: “At 9.50am we responded to reports of a fire alarm and a smell of smoke in Coleraine Close, Chaddesden. On arrival all the occupants were out of the property.
“There is extensive damage to the flat and crews remain inside working at the scene and are currently ventilating the property.”
The flat was not inhabited at the time of the fire, and a cat has also believed to have been rescued from the blaze.
The blaze has since been extinguished and an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
