Following a statement on X, the airport has now confirmed that flights are now being restarted.
They also went on to say that they hope a full operation will be in place for tomorrow.
It states its teams have worked “tirelessly since the incident to ensure a speedy recovery.
We’re now safely able to restart flights, prioritising repatriation and relocation of aircraft.”
Despite the return of flights, they have urged passengers not to travel to the airport unless their airline has advised them to do so.
This announcement comes after a day of chaos with no flights leaving the busiest airport in Europe.
The immediate priority is to now bring back the passengers who have been diverted to other airports in Europe such as Barcelona.
