Wolves’ new manager tells Ethan Turley he remains positive despite Forest win

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira admitted his team was outplayed by a more physical Nottingham Forest side in their 3-0 defeat, conceding that “each mistake we made, they scored a goal”.

Despite the result, which followed a three-game unbeaten start to Pereira’s reign, the new manager found positives in the performance, pointing out that “we created chances” even without their suspended top scorer, Matheus Cunha. The manager was quick to emphasise that his players must share the responsibility. “Premier League survival cannot be hung on one player’s shoulders,” he said.

Wolves carved out opportunities throughout the match, with their best coming from Jorgen Strand Larsen, whose shot was brilliantly blocked on the line by the Forest centre-back, Murillo. But for the first time in 12 matches, Wolves failed to find the net at Molineux.

Pereira, who was without five first-choice players, acknowledged his team’s struggle to stop Forest’s counterattacks but added: “I’m proud of the players because they tried everything.”
