Three people have been arrested after a serious assault in Derby.
Police were called to Normanton Road, this morning where a man was found unconscious and taken to hospital.
A number of roads were closed for several hours from 4am including Grove Street and Belgrave Street according to traffic information website, Inrix.
Drivers were being advised to find an alternative route and also bus services had to be redirected to avoid the road closures.
Derbyshire police have now issued an update regarding the incident.
In a statement on their website, they wrote: “Two people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Derby.
“We were called to Normanton Road at 1am on 15 May after a man was found unconscious.
“He has been taken to hospital, where he remains.
“Two men, both in their 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH. They remain in police custody.
“A woman in her 20s has also been arrested on suspicion of theft. She remains in custody.”
