A closer look at some of the immediate reaction to Southgate’s Euro 2024 qualifier squad… 🔍
Great to see places for Eze & Dunk.
Watkins, White & Gibbs-White are hard done by especially with some of the players who’ve been given a place.
Gallagher, Henderson, Phillips and Maguire can all do one. https://t.co/cBoeIzfTUv

Ben White misses out as Arsenal’s title challenge falls apart at the last. 👇
No Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham, Raheem Sterling or Ben White?
Southgate has fumbled again. https://t.co/Lr1oTc6Vhh— Ahmed Tahseen|احمد تحسين (@ahmedtahseenn) May 24, 2023
In contrast, some fans believe White’s omission was the correct decision for England.
good to see the addition of eze and dunk. white being left out is good. his form and attitude lately has been atrocious. no idea how maguire is in the squad. he’s been a benchwarmer this season. southgate obviously has a lot of pressure on him. https://t.co/AgpAmdSA0Q

15.00 – Sterling: The forgotten man? 😕
Raheem Sterling would have been one of the first names on Southgate’s team sheet one year ago today, but sadly, his omission is no longer a shock to most.
A sad fall from grace for the former Manchester City winger who Southgate admits is not happy with his own physical condition… 👇

14.30 – Tomori’s exclusion unfair? ❌
Champions League semi-finalist Fikayo Tomori misses out on Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the fourth consecutive announcement.
As reaction rolls in across social media, much of the focus is on the former Chelsea player’s exclusion, with many questioning those selected ahead of him.
Bored of saying it, but what does Tomori have to do? Obviously playing in the Champions League semis for last seasons Serie A winners is enough. To say Dunk and Mings are above him is insulting https://t.co/sWpG8sZdTO

14.08 – Gallagher gets the nod 🤝
Gareth Southgate has ignored calls for Gibbs-White to come into the squad, instead opting for Conor Gallagher and Kalvin Phillips, of Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.
Gallagher has solidified his position in the first team under interim manager Frank Lampard but his inclusion has not had any impact on the Blues’ fortunes.
Phillips made his first Premier League start of the season last week, as Pep Guardiola opted for a weakened line-up following confirmation of City’s third successive league title.
COMPARED: Eberechi Eze vs. Conor Gallagher vs. James Maddison vs. Morgan Gibbs-White vs. Phil Foden per 90 in the league this season.

14.02 – BREAKING: Slam Dunk for Lewis! 🚨
After a record-breaking season for Brighton and Hove Albion, club captain and lifelong-Seagull Lewis Dunk has been recalled to Southgate’s squad for the first time since 2018.
The 31-year-old will be hoping to make just his second appearance for The Three Lions, following a five-year hiatus.

Crystal Palace starlet Eberechi Eze appears to have chosen to represent The Three Lions over Nigeria, following his call-up to Southgate’s squad.
Fantastic news for England fans, who will have no doubt enjoyed the 24-year-old’s recent up-turn in form.
Eberechi Eze has completed more take-ons than any other player in the Premier League this season:
