14.08 – Gallagher gets the nod ๐Ÿค

Gareth Southgate has ignored calls for Gibbs-White to come into the squad, instead opting for Conor Gallagher and Kalvin Phillips, of Chelsea and Manchester City respectively.

Gallagher has solidified his position in the first team under interim manager Frank Lampard but his inclusion has not had any impact on the Blues’ fortunes.

Phillips made his first Premier League start of the season last week, as Pep Guardiola opted for a weakened line-up following confirmation of City’s third successive league title.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope misses out on the squad due to injury, just two days after securing Champions League football for next season.

Crystal Palace’s Sam Johnstone comes in to the squad to replace him.
