The upcoming Bank Holiday Monday will be a historic day at The Incora County Ground – as women’s and men’s cricket combine for the first time for a family day double-header.

The Incora County Ground will be hosting two T20 matches on Monday, May 29, the first of which will be The Blaze versus Southern Vipers in the Charlotte Edwards Cup match.

Nat Sciver-Brunt, Tammy Beaumont and Derbyshire’s own Sarah Glenn are among some of the England internationals in the game.

A Vitality Blast clash between Mickey Arthur’s Derbyshire Falcons and Northants Steelbacks will conclude the double-header, with the hosts seeking to replicate the form which saw them win nine T20s in 2022, a club record.

Families will have designated seating in the Showcase Cinema de Lux Family Stand throughout the day.

In addition, the Derbyshire Cricket Foundation will also offer several fun activities, including cricket drills, mini-games, and more – so kids can prepare for a day filled with action.

Tom Skinner, marketing and communication manager at Derbyshire Cricket Club, believes this will be an excellent opportunity to introduce more people to the game, not just to watch some great cricket but also to inspire young players to get involved in the sport.

Tom said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring in a big crowd to the Incora and inspire more kids to take up the sport regardless of their age or background.

“With it being a bank holiday, it’s looking like an enjoyable day, with lots of activities on throughout the day and an extended range of food and drink on offer.”

With years of experience hosting the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup and yearly matches for England and domestic opponents, the Incora County Ground has developed a reputation as one of the country’s leading venues for women’s cricket.

As for the Falcons, big hitters like Haider Ali of Pakistan will bat alongside Derbyshire legend Wayne Madsen and SA20 star and captain Leus du Plooy. Mark Watt, Zaman Khan, Sam Conners and George Scrimshaw from England Lions will hope to bowl the Falcons to victory.
