Manchester United have got a huge summer of business ahead for them. The current squad needs a big overhaul, so here we look at six players that the club should sign.
- Frenkie De Jong – Central Midfield
Frenkie De Jong has been regarded as one of the hottest prospects in world football for over four years now. The 24-year-old began his career at Willem II in the Eredivisie before moving to Ajax. He didn’t hit the ground running but finally found his feet in the 2018/19 season.
He flourished under Erik ten Hag and helped Ajax get to the semi finals of the Champions League. Since his big money move to Barcelona for around $75 million he hasn’t performed as expected. It is believed that if Barcelona could recoup the money they paid for him, then he would move. Could Erik ten Hag get his former protege?

2. Jurrien Timber – Centre Back
The 20-year-old has impressed in his breakthrough campaign with Ajax under Erik ten Hag. The versatile backline player who can move into right back has been a colossus at the back for the Dutch side. He is also very comfortable with the ball at his feet and has good aerial ability.
The youngster could be available for $35 million euros, a good price for a developing defender.

3. Robert Sanchez – Goalkeeper
Robert Sanchez has caught the eye of many fans this season. His impressive performances for Brighton have led to speculation about his future at the club. The 24-year-old has kept 11 clean sheets this season in 37 games. However, it is not his shot stopping that catches the eye.
The Spanish international is exceptional with the ball at his feet. This is in stark contrast to current Manchester United number one David De Gea, who Sanchez has surpassed in the pecking order for the national team. Add this to his ability to claim crosses and command his box, you’ll have the complete keeper. It is believed he will cost around £25 million.

4. Aurelien Tchouameni – Defensive Midfielder
Tchouameni is probably one of the less likely candidates in this list. That is largely down to his links with Real Madrid, with Los Blancos reportedly making him their number one target after missing out on Kylian Mbappe. Monaco would be looking for upwards of $60 million for the French international.
Manchester United have needed a specialist in that position for two years now. After it was announced that Nemanja Matic will leave at the end of the season, the need becomes a necessity. The Frenchman can definitely fill that role for United.

At the same time, Mbappé wants the midfielder to join PSG.

5. Raphinha
The Leeds United winger has been a sensation this season, he was a huge part in them staying in the Premier League. With 11 goals and 3 assists in the League this season he will no doubt be hot property. According to numerous outlets, the Brazilian has an agreement with Barcelona. But with the financial troubles the club are currently in, they might pull out of any possible deal.
If Manchester United want a Premier League proven player, they should look no further than Raphinha.

6. Christopher Nkunku
The versatile forward has impressed for RB Leipzig this year playing in various different positions. The Frenchman has scored a whopping 20 goals in the Bundesliga, also notching 13 assists. There will be interest from many of Europe’s top clubs, but if a deal can be struck for 50 million euros then it would be worthwhile.
