Liverpool have announced the signing of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham after seeing a January move collapse.
Carvalho, 19, played an important role in Fulham’s promotion to the top flight, scoring 10 goals and assisting eight for Marco Silva’s team.
The transfer was announced earlier this morning, with Liverpool confirming the switch will be completed on July 1st.
The clubs agreed on a move in January but the deal collapsed on deadline day. However, the Portuguese signed a five-year deal of £5m, with the Championship side receiving a further £2.7m in add-ons.
After coming through the Fulham academy, he was nominated for EFL Young Player of the Season, losing out to Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson.

Despite losing one of their prized assets, Fulham owner Tony Khan has applauded Carvalho’s work at the club. In a statement on the club’s website, he said: “Fabio is a great talent and we did everything we could trying to secure him here on a longer deal so he could play in the Premier League with Fulham.
“That didn’t prove possible, but we were able to keep him for the remainder of the Championship-winning campaign and for that I know he will always be very fondly remembered by our fans.”
Carvalho joins Liverpool’s already established attack for next season. He will partner Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Takumi Minamino.
One player who is set to say his goodbyes to Anfield is Divock Origi. The Belgium striker received an emotional farewell after yesterday’s 3-1 win over Wolves and has been linked with a move to Serie A champions AC Milan.
