Fabio Carvalho set to follow in the footsteps of Harvey Elliot after finalising summer move from Fulham to Liverpool

Nineteen-year-old Fabio Carvalho will join Liverpool on July 1 for around £5 million, after confirming his move from Fulham to Liverpool.

The teen revelation will follow midfielder Harvey Elliot – who made the exact switch in the same month three years ago.

It may not be the glamorous signing that will boost the club commercially – but it is certainly a signing with a plan. The long-term idea will see Carvalho implemented into the side on a regular basis.

A Liverpool statement said: “Carvalho played a key part in Fulham’s promotion back to the Premier League in 2021-22, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists as Marco Silva’s side won the Championship title.”

It added: “An exciting talent born in the Lisbon region of Portugal, Carvalho made his debut for Portugal U21s in March of this year having previously represented England at youth level.

“Carvalho came through the academy ranks at Fulham and went on to make 44 senior appearances in total for the London club.”

Playing 36 times for a side that won the league is an achievement alone. Holding his own at 19 years old is the reason why Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp were so key on making the signing early doors.

It is not known where he will be playing his football next season. A loan move could become possible to further his growth and talent.

Carvalho will now sit back and watch his new teammates at the Champions League final on Saturday. A huge incentive for the teenager, who will be eager to impress in pre-season training at the start of July.
