2018 is the year of Sci-Fi and Fantasy, with more and more announcements being made each month. It can be hard to keep up with so many new releases, so here are five of the most anticipated genre releases for this year. Meggan Turner reports…
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
The debut fantasy of the year” according to Penguin Random House, this book focuses not only on magic, but also features an entire cast of characters that are people of colour. It’s a breath of fresh air to the genre, and since it’s release on March 6th it has taken the world by storm.
Obsidio by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
The final book in the Illuminae Files trilogy, this sci-fi novel is set to be the conclusion of the year. Following Kady and the rest of the space crew, this is set to be a powerful ending with reviews already promising the book will leave you in tears. It’s sure to be a wild ride.
To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo
Another debut novel that has been named “a dark and richly imagined take on The Little Mermaid”, is now out for the world to see after a highly anticipated wait. With an eye catching cover, and a synopsis filled with magic, mystery and magical creatures – it is definitely one to watch out for.
Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody
Following on from her debut novel, Daughter of the Burning City, this new novel from NYT Bestseller Amanda Foody is a powerful novel on assassins, murder and a fantasy world you wouldn’t want to live in.
