Make up trends for spring 2018

Spring 2018 make up trends, dewy skin

With spring being a month away, the forecasts for upcoming make up trends are starting to float around.

Spring 2018 trends, dewy skin

From runways, to the drug store, the theme is similar throughout; glowy and radiant skin is IN. Lots of brands have now released or are releasing thin and dewy gel or water-based foundations.

High end brands such as Nars, Bobbi Brown and YSL have all released radiant and dewy foundations, which complement drug store dupes from the likes of Bourjois and Rimmel.

Using water based and gel formulas, as well as the standard lightweight foundations, achieves the highly sought after dewy and glowy skin that is being seen all over the runways.

Tom Ford and Alexander Wang, to name a couple, are huge advocates for fresh and positively healthy looking skin. With a peachy cream blush, and some lip balm on the lips, paired with highlighter swept across the cheeks and eyes, the subtle glow is achieved.

Models are also creating their runway looks with just concealer and bronzer, to give the illusion that they are nearly barefaced; the ultimate no make up, make up look.

To accompany the radiant skin, liner is also set to be a very key element of make up application. Specifically, smudgy brown liner, graphic liner and coloured liner (primarily white and turquoise).
The dewy skin and liner variations are key to achieving fresh make up with a pop of colour (on either the eyes or lips) with a futuristic twist.
The overall vibe this spring, is fresh, simple skin with liner and LOTS of highlighter.
Skin soft, natural is definitely vital to achieving the latest trends.
